- Mudavadi says by-elections should not be used to predict the 2027 presidential race.

- The PCS remains confident Ruto will win re-election in 2027.
- Mudavadi says he aims to deliver over 90% of Luhya votes to President Ruto.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has downplayed the significance of recent by-election outcomes, insisting they should not be interpreted as a reflection of President William Ruto's chances in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking on the matter, Mudavadi argued that by-elections are fundamentally different from national elections and should not cause panic within the Kenya Kwanza administration.
"These are just by-elections and not general elections. Kama hiyo ilifanyika Ol Kalou sio kitu ya kutisha mtu. Kama umetishika wewe, toka ndani ya serikali," he said.
He questioned why some people were drawing broad political conclusions from the by-election results, noting that President Ruto was not on the ballot.
"Nyinyi hamkuona Ruto kwa ballot, sasa wale wakishindana huko, all of a sudden watu wameanza kusema kama candidate wa UDA ameshindwa, ata Ruto tutamshinda."
Mudavadi maintained that the Kenya Kwanza coalition still has ample time to campaign ahead of the next General Election and expressed confidence that President Ruto would secure a second term.
"Between now and 2027, there's still enough time for campaigns, and I assure you all Ruto will prevail," he stated.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary also pledged to rally support for the President in the Western region, saying he was confident of delivering overwhelming backing from the Luhya community.
"I have mobilized my Luhya people, and I will deliver more than 90% of Luhya votes to President William Ruto's basket in 2027," Mudavadi said.
