Police Reveal Costly Mistake 17-Year-Old Did With Kenyan Flag That Landed Him In DCI Custody

Police have confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old boy after a viral video showed him disrespecting the Kenyan national flag, an act that has sparked outrage among Kenyans online.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that the teenager’s costly mistake was recorded and widely shared on social media, prompting authorities to take swift action.

According to the DCI, the boy was identified after a brief manhunt following the circulation of the clip, which showed him mishandling and making gestures deemed as dishonorable to the flag.

The incident has raised serious concerns as the Kenyan flag is regarded as a powerful symbol of unity, independence, and national pride. Authorities stressed that such behavior cannot be tolerated, especially at a time when efforts are being made to strengthen patriotism among young people.

The police further warned that disrespecting national symbols is punishable by law under the Penal Code, and citizens are urged to treat the flag with the dignity it deserves.

“This should serve as a lesson to other young people that the flag is not a plaything, but a representation of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for freedom,” an officer remarked.

The teenager is currently being held in custody as investigations continue, with reports indicating he may face charges in court.

Meanwhile, the arrest has triggered mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans calling for leniency due to his age, while others insist that the law must take its course.

Mulamwah Breaks Silence On Why He Chose Benz Over Wedding With Ruth K

Comedian and radio presenter Mulamwah has stirred online reactions after revealing that he spent money originally meant for his wedding with ex-girlfriend Ruth K to gift himself a luxurious Mercedes Benz S-550 for his birthday.

Speaking during an interview, the entertainer admitted that after parting ways with Ruth K, he decided to prioritize himself and reward his hard work rather than mourn over a relationship that didn’t work out.

“That money was for the wedding, yes, but life changed. I looked at everything I’ve been through, and I decided to do something for myself. I’ve worked hard, I’ve built a name, and this Benz is a symbol of my journey,” Mulamwah said.

The revelation has ignited mixed reactions on social media, with fans and critics weighing in. Some praised him for choosing self-love and progress, while others criticized the decision as wasteful and insensitive, especially considering how public the relationship with Ruth K had become.

“Mulamwah just showed us that sometimes, you come first. Benz over heartbreak any day!” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter).

However, some netizens felt he could have used the money for investment or charity rather than a flashy gift. Others questioned whether the move was a calculated publicity stunt ahead of a new project or brand deal.

Ruth K has not responded to Mulamwah’s remarks, maintaining silence on the issue.

Mulamwah and Ruth K broke up earlier this year after months of speculation about their rocky relationship. With the Benz parked in his compound and his head held high, Mulamwah seems focused on the future — with no wedding ring, but a new ride that’s already turning heads.

More Deaths Reported In Police Stations Weeks After Blogger Ojwang Was Killed

Tension continues to rise nationwide after the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) confirmed new deaths in police custody, barely weeks after the controversial killing of blogger Albert Ojwang.

In a statement released on Monday, IPOA revealed that at least four more individuals have died in unclear circumstances while being held in various police stations across the country.

The shocking revelations have sparked renewed outrage among human rights defenders, who now accuse law enforcement agencies of operating with impunity.

According to IPOA Chairperson Anne Makori, the latest cases are under active investigation, and preliminary findings point to gross misconduct and possible use of excessive force.

One of the incidents reportedly took place at a station in Kiambu, where a 19-year-old man died just hours after arrest. Another case involved a boda boda operator in Kisumu who was allegedly beaten in the cells.

The fresh reports have added pressure on Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to act, especially after promising justice in Ojwang’s death. Activists are now calling for urgent police reforms and the prosecution of officers linked to custodial deaths.

IPOA has vowed to hold all officers accountable and release a detailed report once investigations are complete.

Jane Kimari: Why I chose to do farming despite having first class Honors

Many people believe that excelling academically guarantees a white-collar job, but Jane Kimari defied this notion. Despite graduating with first-class honors, she chose a different path—farming.

Jane, who pursued a degree in Agricultural Economics, initially envisioned herself working in corporate offices or government institutions. However, after struggling to secure a well-paying job, she decided to turn to farming. She saw it not just as a survival option but as a lucrative business with the potential for financial freedom.

Starting small, Jane invested in vegetable and poultry farming. Through dedication, she expanded her venture, supplying fresh produce to local markets and supermarkets. Today, she earns more than what many degree holders in office jobs make.

She encourages young graduates to embrace agriculture as a business, rather than waiting for formal employment. According to Jane, farming provides financial stability and independence, something many people overlook.

"Many people think farming is for the uneducated, but it is a goldmine if done right. I am proud of my decision," she says.

Jane’s success story proves that academic excellence can be a tool for entrepreneurship, and farming can be a rewarding career choice.

A man from Kapsabet, Nandi County, has emotionally shared how he was left financially drained after spending all his savings on his wife's illness and burial.

Naphtali Ole Tipia, a security guard who had worked in Qatar since 2015, said he lost everything while caring for his late wife, Waryoba Amos Jackson, a Tanzanian national.

Naphtali returned home from Qatar to marry Waryoba before resuming work abroad. He entrusted her to his sister, a Moi University employee, to ensure her well-being, as Waryoba’s family had returned to Tanzania

However, in 2019, she fell ill while working in Dar es Salaam and began losing weight. Initially, Naphtali assumed it was due to work-related stress.

She later moved back to her mother’s home, where her health seemed to improve for some time. However, her condition deteriorated again, prompting Naphtali to spend all his hard-earned savings on medical bills and travel expenses to care for her.

Despite his efforts, Waryoba succumbed to her illness, leaving him heartbroken and in deep financial distress.

Now left with nothing after eight years of working abroad, Naphtali says he is struggling to rebuild his life. His story has touched many, with some sympathizers urging well-wishers to support him in getting back on his feet.

A 29-year-old man, John Kiama Wambua, has been arraigned in court on suspicion of killing his wife and dismembering her body.

Police have requested the court to detain him for 21 days to allow further investigations into the gruesome murder allegations.

According to the investigating officer, Wambua was arrested on January 20 at around 5 a.m. in Huruma estate, Nairobi, while carrying a suspicious bag on his back.

Upon being stopped and searched, police discovered human body parts concealed in a cement bag inside the backpack.

The suspect later led authorities to his rented house, where they found additional body parts hidden under his bed. The chilling discovery shocked residents, with many struggling to comprehend the brutality of the crime.

Court documents indicate that Wambua allegedly confessed to killing his wife following an argument after he found her with another man. In his statement, he admitted to dismembering her body in an attempt to dispose of it.

Trio Mio Atoa Message ya Tumaini Baada ya KCSE, Asema 'Kufail kwa Exams Sio Kufail kwa Maisha' Akitoa Mfano wa Kaligraph Jones na Joho

In 2022, Trio Mio, a talented Kenyan musician, made a bold statement after sitting for his KCSE exams.
He emphasized that the results would not define his future or determine what he would eat. "KCSE results can't feed me; the grade that I will score will not determine what I eat," he said.

Instead of focusing solely on academics, Trio Mio expressed his desire to continue with music, aspiring to be a better musician and even venturing into full production.
He cited Boutross as an inspiration, highlighting that music could offer him more opportunities than a traditional academic path. His message resonated with many, especially students facing pressure over their exam results.

On the day the KCSE results were officially released, Trio Mio reaffirmed his stance, reminding students that exams are not the end of the road.
"Kuanguka kwa exams sio mwisho wa maisha, maisha lazima isonge mbele," he said. He urged students not to despair, even if they failed their exams. Success is not solely dependent on academic performance.
The stories of successful individuals like Khaligraph Jones, who overcame poor grades to become one of Kenya’s wealthiest rappers, serve as proof that failure in exams does not equate to failure in life.

Trio Mio further pointed out that even prominent figures like Governor Joho, who had received a D- in his exams, went on to achieve great things.
"Kufail kwa exams sio mwisho wa maisha," he said, encouraging students to keep pushing forward despite their results.
His words are a powerful reminder that determination, passion, and perseverance can lead to success, regardless of academic setbacks. As Trio Mio rightly put it, life is not defined by exam results, but by the effort we put into our dreams.
