Prof David Ndetei Finally Breaks Silence After Heartbreaking Wife's Murder, Sends Message to Killers
Professor David Musyimi Ndetei has spoken publicly for the first time since the killing of his wife, renowned psychiatrist Dr Victoria Mutiso, saying he has forgiven those behind her death despite the deep pain his family continues to endure.
Speaking during an emotional memorial service held at CITAM Valley Road Church in Nairobi on Thursday, Professor Ndetei described the loss of his wife as one of the most difficult moments his family has ever faced.
He said the tragedy had left a huge gap in their lives but insisted he would not allow bitterness to take control, choosing instead to leave justice and vengeance to God.
The memorial drew relatives, friends, colleagues, and members of the public who gathered to celebrate the life of Dr Mutiso, remembering her as a humble, caring, and deeply faithful woman who dedicated her life to serving others and advancing education.
The couple's children, David Musyimi Junior and Dr Christine Musyimi, paid touching tributes to their mother.
They recalled her kindness, unwavering support, and the close bond she shared with her family.
They also spoke of the painful moments after unsuccessfully trying to reach her on the day she was killed, describing the loss as one that will remain with them for years.
Family members and close relatives remembered Dr Mutiso as a dependable figure who treated everyone with love and generosity, always making time for important family occasions and offering support whenever it was needed.
A close friend also revealed that Dr Mutiso had survived what appeared to be an earlier attempt on her life weeks before her death.
According to the friend, the psychiatrist had reported escaping a suspected shooting incident on July 14 and remained optimistic despite the frightening experience.
Dr Mutiso was shot dead in Nairobi's Hill area while travelling in a taxi to work. Detectives have arrested four suspects as investigations continue.
Authorities believe a land and property dispute could have played a role in the killing, although enquiries are still ongoing.
She is expected to be buried on Friday at her home in Wote, Makueni County.
As loved ones prepare to lay her to rest, they have appealed for a thorough investigation and swift justice for a woman whose life ended in a shocking act of violence.
