Cartoonist Yoko Resurfaces: Shares Details of His Ordeal After Being Dropped in Vihiga



Popular Kenyan cartoonist Kibet Bull, famously known as Yoko, has confirmed his safe return home after a puzzling disappearance. Speaking to the media, Yoko recounted how he was dropped in Luanda, Vihiga County, and found himself navigating an unfamiliar area before eventually making his way back.

According to Yoko, after being left in Luanda, he decided to attend a disco matanga—a traditional funeral event characterized by music and dancing. The event provided him with some solace as he mingled with locals and regained his composure. “I didn’t know where I was at first, but I stumbled upon a disco matanga and decided to join in. It was surreal, but it helped me gather myself,” he explained.

The celebrated cartoonist shared that after spending the night at the event, he sought assistance from the community, which helped him chart his way home. While he didn’t disclose the circumstances surrounding how he ended up in Vihiga, Yoko assured his fans that he was unharmed and in good spirits.

Fans and followers, who had expressed concern during his unexplained absence, were relieved to hear of his safe return.
