Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has sparked reactions online after debuting a noticeably new smile, with many Kenyans speculating that the outspoken politician may have undergone a cosmetic dental makeover.
Although Sudi has not publicly confirmed the procedure, dental experts believe he most likely got veneers thin porcelain shells placed over teeth to improve appearance by covering gaps, stains, or uneven alignment.
Unlike braces, which gradually straighten teeth over time, veneers offer a quicker transformation. The process usually involves shaving a small layer of enamel, taking dental impressions, and fitting custom-made veneers within two to three weeks.
Reports indicate that the procedure can be quite expensive, with global costs ranging between KSh 104,000 and KSh 325,000 per tooth depending on the clinic and materials used. A complete smile makeover may cost up to nearly KSh 2 million.
Sudi now joins a growing list of prominent Kenyan figures believed to have enhanced their smiles through cosmetic dentistry, including President William Ruto and businessman Jimmy Wanjigi.
Kenyans online reacted with humour and admiration, with some joking that “new teeth come with new confidence.”
