Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has sharply responded to former President Uhuru Kenyatta after the retired Head of State criticised President William Ruto over the rising cost of living and fuel prices.
Sudi accused Uhuru of attempting to lecture the current administration despite allegedly failing to fix the country’s economic challenges during his 10 years in power.
According to the outspoken MP, Uhuru now appears to have solutions that he failed to implement while serving as President.
The exchange follows Uhuru’s recent remarks in which he said Kenyans were struggling under the weight of high fuel prices and the increasing cost of living. He urged leaders to stop engaging in blame games and instead focus on finding practical solutions for citizens.
Uhuru also dismissed attempts to drag him into current government failures, insisting that leaders currently in office should take full responsibility for the country’s situation.
At the same time, the former President explained why he remains active in politics despite retiring from office. He said ongoing court battles involving the Jubilee Party forced him to continue serving as party leader instead of fully stepping away from political affairs.
Sudi’s response has since fueled fresh political debate online, with supporters of both leaders clashing over the state of the economy and responsibility for Kenya’s current challenges.
