Edwin Sifuna Finally Explains Future Of LINDA MWANANCHI Rallies Reveals Next Destination In Nyanza Despite Warnings not to Visit
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has declared that the Linda Mwananchi rallies will continue unabated despite growing political tension within the Orange Democratic Movement ODM.
Speaking during a recent rally, Sifuna maintained a defiant tone, insisting that he and like-minded leaders will not be intimidated. “Mikutano yetu itaendelea na sisi si waoga. Nataka kuhakikisha gavana wa Migori tutakuja Migori. Kama ni kutuua wacha atuue,” he said, drawing cheers from supporters.
The outspoken senator has been leading the Linda Mwananchi movement alongside Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Siaya Governor James Orengo, and other ODM leaders who are opposing the party’s recent decision to work with President William Ruto.
The faction argues that ODM risks betraying its core supporters by aligning itself with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
They say the Linda Mwananchi rallies are aimed at defending the interests of ordinary Kenyans who are struggling with the high cost of living and economic hardships.
Sifuna’s remarks appeared to reference resistance from Migori County leadership, but he insisted that no region is off-limits. “We will go everywhere. We are not afraid,” he told the crowd.
The internal wrangles have exposed deep divisions within ODM, a party traditionally known for its strong opposition stance.
While some leaders defend the cooperation with Ruto as a move for national unity and development, others see it as a betrayal of the party’s principles.
Political analysts warn that the standoff could reshape opposition politics ahead of the next electoral cycle. For now, Sifuna and his allies remain firm, signaling that the battle for the soul of ODM is far from over.
