KUCCPS Opens TVET Applications for May 2026 Intake: How KCSE 2000–2025 Candidates Can Apply Before March 18

  • KUCCPS has opened TVET course applications for the May 2026 intake.
  • Eligible applicants include KCSE candidates from 2000 to 2025.
  • Applications must be submitted through the KUCCPS student portal by March 18, 2026.
  • Courses are available in national polytechnics, technical institutes, and accredited colleges across Kenya.

KUCCPS Opens Applications for TVET Courses for KCSE 2000–2025 Candidates

Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially opened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses ahead of the May 2026 intake, giving thousands of KCSE graduates another opportunity to join technical institutions across the country.

In a notice released on Sunday, March 8, KUCCPS invited KCSE candidates from the 2000 to 2025 cohorts to apply for various diploma, certificate, and artisan courses offered in government-accredited technical institutions.

The placement agency said the available programmes are offered in national polytechnics, technical training institutes, institutes of science and technology, and other registered technical colleges nationwide.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Mercy Wahome encouraged interested applicants to submit their applications early through the KUCCPS student portal, noting that TVET institutions offer courses suitable for students with different KCSE grades.

According to the placement body, students do not need a high KCSE mean grade to secure a training opportunity in the technical sector.

“With any KCSE mean grade, you can still find a suitable course in TVET institutions,” KUCCPS said in the announcement.

Applicants are required to log into the KUCCPS portal, review the list of available programmes, select their preferred courses, and submit their choices before the deadline.

Deadline Set for March 18

KUCCPS has set March 18, 2026, as the official deadline for submitting TVET applications.

The agency urged candidates to carefully check course requirements and the institutions offering them before making their selections to avoid errors during placement.

Importantly, the opportunity is not limited to the latest KCSE candidates. Form Four leavers from previous years who may have missed earlier opportunities can also apply for placement under the May 2026 intake.

Government Expanding TVET Sector

The opening of the application window comes as the government intensifies efforts to strengthen technical and vocational training in Kenya.

Recently, the Cabinet approved China’s participation in upgrading more than 70 TVET institutions across the country under Phase III of the Kenya–China TVET project. The initiative will equip colleges with modern training facilities and tools in key technical fields.

The move is expected to align training with labour market demands and improve job opportunities for graduates.

Other Admissions Ongoing

The TVET applications follow a recent announcement by the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), which opened applications for 31 medical courses for its upcoming intake.

Meanwhile, many 2025 KCSE candidates are still waiting for KUCCPS to officially open the university placement application window.

Education stakeholders say the continued expansion of technical training is meant to give young people practical skills needed in the job market, while also reducing pressure on universities.
