Full List Of Top Prominent Leaders Who Okoth Obado Found In The Prison Where He Was Taken
Former Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been transferred to the high-security Block G at Industrial Area Prison following his conviction in the murder of university student Sharon Otieno.
Obado, along with his co-convicts, completed routine intake procedures including medical evaluations, registration, and the handover of personal items upon arrival. They were subsequently issued prison uniforms and bedding and assigned sleeping areas within the facility.
Block G has become notorious for housing high-profile inmates involved in serious criminal and corruption cases. Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Sirisia MP John Waluke are among those previously incarcerated in the same section following unrelated corruption convictions.
For Obado, the transfer marked a return to familiar surroundings, he spent over a month in the same block in 2018 following his initial arrest for Sharon Otieno's murder before being granted bail during the trial.
Reports indicate that former Nairobi Central Police Station Commander Samson Talaam, currently on trial for the murder of teacher Albert Ojwang, is also detained in the same block.
Prison officials maintain that housing assignments are based on security evaluations and operational needs rather than an inmate's political background or previous public service.
