Eyewitnesses Reveals Attempts to Rescue Passengers Found Breathing After the Deadly Plane Crash in Nandi
Shock and grief have taken over people of Nandi County following the unfortunate death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno in a helicopter crash on Saturday evening.
The lawmaker was among six people who perished when a Eurocopter 350 crashed inside Chepkiep Forest shortly after an attempted takeoff.
The aircraft which is the property of Youth Aviation Company had just attempted an emergency landing a few moments earlier, and it was all thanks to inclement weather.
Eyewitnesses that spoke after the incident stated that there was heavy mist and that visibility was low.
First, the helicopter descended into the forest and landed safely, according to locals.

The villagers ran towards the crash site and found pieces of the wreck scattered all over the place.
Residents said that the aircraft seemed to lose its balance before hitting the branches of a tree.
The plane crashed and on impact threw the passengers in different directions. One passenger was found to be breathing and those at sight tried to save the passenger but he died shortly after.
The crash site was hardly accessible, and the thick vegetation and fog hindered the rescue mission. The situation was already tragic before the emergency responders arrived.
Leaders on either side of the aisle have paid their respects, calling Ng’eno a loud and lively spokesman.
Further investigations are slated to establish the exact cause of the fatal accident though poor weather conditions are believed to have contributed greatly.
