DCI Finally Reveals that the Mental Health Researcher Victoria Mutiso Was Killed After Wedding With Rose Mbithi's Husband After Divorce
Investigations into the murder of renowned clinical psychologist and mental health researcher Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso have taken a new direction after detectives revealed details surrounding two suspects arrested in connection with the case.
Dr. Victoria was shot dead in Upper Hill, Nairobi, while preparing to travel to work. The DCI identified the arrested suspects as Rose Mbithi Mulwa and Chris Mulwa, saying they are believed to have important links to the events that led to her death.
Police said the suspects were detained after investigations indicated that they may have had knowledge of or involvement in the planning of the attack.
According to detectives, Rose Mbithi was previously married to Professor David Ndetei before their marriage ended. Police stated that she later married Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, a relationship that reportedly brought the different parties into close contact.
Investigators are examining whether a long-running property dispute involving Rose could have played a role in the murder. Police claim that Rose was involved in changing the ownership status of land situated along Mombasa Road, which allegedly created disagreements with Prof. Ndetei.
The DCI further stated that Prof. Ndetei later bought approximately 23 acres of land after the ownership dispute emerged. Although relations between the parties appeared calm after the deal, detectives say disagreements later returned.
Police believe the matter involved both property and personal issues, including family relationships that changed over time.
According to investigators, the combination of these unresolved disputes may have provided a possible motive for Dr. Victoria’s killing.
Both Rose Mbithi Mulwa and Chris Mulwa are being held at Kilimani Police Station while detectives continue gathering evidence and pursuing other leads.
