Investigative Corporal Tells Court What Was Removed From Mutiso's Body After a Postmortem Was Done
Elijah Kimoi Kibelion, the Police Constable accused of allegedly shooting Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso on Wednesday 29th, July 2026, in Upperhill, Nairobi was presented at the Milimani Law Court, before Principal Magistrate Paul Mutai.
He was arraigned together with his accomplices Kevin Kinuthia Ngugi and Daniel Njoroge Mwangi days after they were apprehended by the investigative officers.
While at the corridors of law, Corporal Romana Oduor who has been leading the investigations asked Magistrate Mutai to hold the three for 30 more days, while his team continues to find out more information regarding the untimely incident.
Through an affidavit that he submitted at the court, Romana Oduor indicated that after days of thorough probe, his able team was able to find out the specific roles that each of the three suspects played before Dr Mutiso was silenced.
Specifically, Romana Oduor said that Daniel Njoroge who is the key mastermind behind the murder was the one who hired the car and drove it to the interception pont, before he waited for Dr Mutiso's Uber to approach.
Romana Oduor also added that Kelvin Ngugi was the boda boda rider who ferried Constable Kimoi to the scene before Kimoi shot Dr Mutiso in the head. After the ill assignment was done, Kevin Ngugi helped Elijah Kimoi escape.
In regards to the shooting incident, Corporal Oduor indicated that after a postmortem was done on Mutiso's body, a bullet was removed from her head and upon tracing it, the DCI officers established that it (bullet) came from a Mini Jericho gun that had been issued to a senior police officer at Kikuyu Police Station.
The gun was traced and was established to belong to Inspector Kenneth Kipkemboi Sang.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Paul Mutai directed the three suspects to be placed in custody for 30 days as investigations continue to gather steam.
