Detectives investigating the brutal killing of Reverend Julius Ndumia of PCEA Tabuga Parish in Lanet, Nakuru County, have arrested two suspects believed to be behind the attack.
According to investigators, the breakthrough came after officers tracked a mobile phone stolen during the incident. The device, which belonged to the slain clergyman, provided crucial digital leads that helped police trace the movements of the suspects.
Security sources indicate that one of the suspects was found in possession of the stolen phone, prompting immediate arrest. A second suspect was later picked up in a follow-up operation as detectives widened the probe.
The suspects are currently being interrogated as authorities work to establish whether they acted alone or are part of a larger criminal group targeting residents in the area.
How the Attack Happened
Preliminary reports show that the assailants stormed the church premises, attacked the reverend, and later ransacked his residence. They are said to have stolen several items including mobile phones, electronic devices, and cash before fleeing the scene.
Police say the stolen phone tracking system played a key role in narrowing down the suspects’ location, marking a significant step forward in the investigation.
Ongoing Investigations
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed that efforts are ongoing to determine the full scope of the operation and whether more suspects are involved.
Authorities are also analyzing recovered digital evidence as they build a stronger case ahead of prosecution.
