Controversial MAGA activist Laura Loomer has reignited debate around Senator Lindsey Graham after claiming under oath that the longtime Republican lawmaker is gay.
The remarks reportedly emerged during Loomer’s deposition in her defamation lawsuit against HBO host Bill Maher. Loomer is suing Maher after he allegedly joked that she was involved in a relationship with Donald Trump.
During the deposition, Loomer reportedly stated that several members of Trump’s inner circle had privately told her Graham was gay. According to the testimony, she described it as “well-known” within political circles.
The comments quickly spread across social media platforms after portions of the deposition became public earlier this year. Loomer later defended her statements online, insisting she was speaking truthfully because she was under oath.
This is not the first time the outspoken conservative activist has publicly questioned Graham’s sexuality. In previous social media posts dating back to 2024, Loomer openly urged the senator to “come out,” while adding that there was “nothing wrong with gay people.”
Senator Graham, who has represented South Carolina in the U.S. Senate since 2003, has consistently denied the rumors. He publicly stated in both 2010 and 2018 that he is not gay.
Despite his denials, speculation surrounding the senator’s private life has circulated online for years, particularly because of his strong conservative positions on LGBTQ+ issues. Critics have frequently accused Graham of supporting policies viewed as harmful to LGBTQ+ communities while remaining silent on the ongoing rumors.
The discussion intensified in 2020 when adult film performer Sean Harding made controversial claims online alleging that Graham had connections with male escorts. Those allegations were never proven, but the hashtag “#LadyG” trended heavily across social media at the time.
Several public figures, including Whoopi Goldberg and Chelsea Handler, have also previously joked about Graham’s sexuality, sparking criticism from activists who argued such speculation can reinforce harmful stereotypes and homophobia.
Political analysts say the renewed attention reflects the increasingly personal nature of modern American political battles, especially within conservative circles heading into the next election cycle.
