Fresh Details Emerge About the Owner of Prado in Dr Victoria Mutiso Case
Police are looking into a missing Toyota Prado as a key piece of evidence in the murder of Dr. Victoria Nthunya Mutiso.
Detectives are trying to figure out if this vehicle, which disappeared during the demolition of Dr. Mutiso's property in Mlolongo earlier this year, was used in the attack that killed her in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
The Prado was reportedly stolen on February 12, during a demolition that was ordered by the court at her disputed property in Machakos County.
The authorities stated that the demolition caused significant damage to buildings and that several vehicles were also reported missing from the property.
The Toyota Prado is now a crucial part of the murder investigation, as detectives think it could help them understand what happened right before she was shot.
Police suspect the vehicle might be involved because a taxi carrying Dr. Mutiso was allegedly stopped before armed men on a motorcycle shot her multiple times while she was on her way to work.
The investigation is also focusing on the events surrounding the demolition. Detectives are looking into claims that one of the suspects had previously shown the same court order for demolition at the Mlolongo Police Station to have it carried out.
Dr. Mutiso had later reported the demolition to the police, questioning its legality and requesting an investigation into the matter.
Authorities are now working to see if the ongoing land dispute might be connected to the motive for her murder.
Investigators have also learned that Dr. Mutiso had reported receiving death threats a few weeks before she was killed. On July 7, she told officers at Kilimani Police Station that three men on a motorcycle had confronted and threatened her.
Detectives are now investigating if these same individuals were responsible for the shooting on July 29.
The Chief Government Pathologist, Johansen Oduor, confirmed that Dr. Mutiso died from heavy bleeding due to three gunshot wounds.
As the investigation progresses, detectives are following several leads, including trying to locate the missing Toyota Prado and identify everyone involved in the murder.
