Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has sparked fresh concern among Kenyans after revealing that he recently fell ill, forcing him to skip a political event and address supporters virtually instead.

Uhuru made the revelation while speaking to Jubilee Party supporters during a meeting in Narok County. The former Head of State failed to attend the gathering physically, explaining that he became unwell shortly after returning from an overseas trip.

Although he did not disclose details about the illness, many supporters noticed his strained voice during the virtual address, prompting emotional reactions online and renewed prayers for his recovery.

The development reportedly created an emotional mood in Ichaweri, the Kenyatta family’s well-known home in Gatundu South, Kiambu County, where supporters and close allies have continued sending messages of support and prayers.

Ichaweri remains one of the most recognised political family residences in Kenya due to its strong historical connection to Kenya’s founding president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and the family’s long-standing political influence.

Public curiosity surrounding the estate has recently intensified after a content creator reportedly captured footage near the compound before allegedly being stopped by security officers.

Beyond politics, attention has also returned to the Kenyatta family’s business and philanthropic interests, including Heritage Hotels and the Kenyatta Trust, an organisation known for supporting education through scholarships and mentorship programs.

As discussions about Uhuru Kenyatta’s health continue spreading online, political allies, supporters, and members of the public have continued wishing him a quick recovery and expressing hope that he will soon resume active public engagements.
