Two Police Officers Arrested Over Dr Mutiso & Lawyer Mbobu Killings, Gun and Motorbike Recovered
A major breakthrough has been made in the murder of psychologist Dr. Victoria Mutiso after detectives arrested two men believed to have carried out the fatal shooting.
The suspects, who are police officers, are accused of pulling the trigger in both Dr. Mutiso’s murder and the earlier killing of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.
According to detectives, the arrests followed weeks of investigations that also led to the recovery of a pistol suspected to have been used in the killings.
Investigators also recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used by the gunmen during the attack on Dr. Mutiso.
Police said the motorcycle was positively linked to the scene where the psychologist was gunned down.
Detectives are still searching for additional suspects believed to have played different roles in planning and executing the crimes.
The latest arrests come after four other suspects, including a woman, her two children, and a former Member of County Assembly, were taken into custody over Dr. Mutiso’s murder.
Dr. Mutiso was shot dead in Nairobi last week after previously reporting two separate incidents in which unknown men riding a motorcycle allegedly followed and threatened her.
Detectives are also investigating whether her killing is connected to the murder of lawyer Mbobu, who was shot dead along Magadi Road in September 2025.
Mbobu had represented Dr. Mutiso’s husband, Prof. Ndetei, in a long-running property dispute involving matrimonial assets reportedly worth billions of shillings.
Police believe the similarities between the two killings could help uncover the motive and identify everyone behind the deadly plot.
