Jubilee Party Awaits Uhuru’s Address as Members Look for New Direction

Nairobi – All eyes are on Jubilee Party today as former President H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta officially takes charge of the party, signaling a fresh chapter after nearly two and a half years of internal struggles following an attempted illegal takeover.

The party’s Special National Delegates Conference (NDC) convened this morning, with members, supporters, and key leaders eagerly awaiting Uhuru’s address.

The expectation is high as party faithful hope for guidance, unity, and a clear roadmap for the Jubilee Party’s future.

Political analysts say Uhuru’s return to active party leadership comes at a crucial time, with national elections approaching and the need for cohesive strategies becoming more urgent.

“This is an opportunity for Jubilee to consolidate its base and present a united front ahead of the 2027 polls,” noted a political commentator.

Sources within the party indicate that Uhuru plans to address lingering disputes, reinforce party structures, and introduce initiatives to strengthen grassroots mobilization. Members are also anticipating directives on leadership succession and strategies to reclaim key political strongholds.

Supporters gathered outside the conference venue expressed optimism, with many praising Uhuru’s resilience and commitment to steering Jubilee back on course. “We trust his leadership will restore the party’s credibility and bring real change,” said one delegate.

As the conference unfolds, the nation watches closely, eager to hear the former President’s vision and strategies.

Analysts predict that Uhuru’s guidance could redefine Jubilee’s political trajectory and influence alliances across the Kenyan political landscape.

Mastermind Arrested After DCI Exposes Syndicate Recruiting Kenyans for Ukraine Conflict

Machakos – The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has dismantled a human trafficking syndicate accused of luring Kenyans with fake job offers in Moscow, only to recruit them into Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

According to DCI reports, the syndicate promised victims a monthly salary of KSh 200,000. However, Kenyans who expressed interest in the jobs were forced to pay as much as KSh 2.3 million for visas, logistics, and processing fees.

Heavy penalties were reportedly imposed on those who delayed payments.

Detectives raided several apartments in Athi River, where 21 Kenyans were confined while awaiting travel arrangements.

The raids led to the arrest of the alleged mastermind behind the operation, whose identity authorities have withheld pending further investigations.

Recovered documents from the raids revealed connections between the recruitment firms, raising suspicions that powerful backers may have been shielding the illegal operation.

The DCI said it is working to track all individuals involved and identify any local and international networks supporting the syndicate.

“This is a serious case of human trafficking and exploitation. We urge Kenyans to be cautious of job offers that seem too good to be true, especially those involving overseas recruitment,” a DCI spokesperson said.

Authorities have launched a full investigation, and the victims are receiving support while their cases are documented.

The arrest sends a strong warning to criminal networks attempting to exploit unsuspecting Kenyans under the guise of employment opportunities abroad.

Estranged Husband Under Probe Over Murder of Mother of Six in Murang’a

Murang’a County detectives are investigating a shocking murder case involving a 53-year-old woman whose body was delivered to Kangari Police Station disguised as a parcel.

The victim, identified by relatives as Hannah Wanjiku, a mother of six, was reportedly killed under mysterious circumstances.

According to Kigumo Sub-county Police Commander Hassan Bashir, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the crime.

They include Wanjiku’s estranged husband, two of her sons, and the taxi driver who delivered the body. The police are currently trying to establish whether the taxi driver acted on instructions from the husband or the sons.

“The suspects are assisting with investigations, and we are looking into all angles, including potential motives and prior conflicts,” said Commander Bashir.

The shocking manner in which the woman’s body was transported has left the community in disbelief. Relatives and neighbors expressed their sorrow, describing Hannah as a loving mother who had lived a peaceful life.

Police have confirmed that postmortem results will provide crucial details on the cause of death, while forensic analysis may help determine how the murder was executed.

This case has intensified calls for better security and awareness in Murang’a County, especially regarding domestic disputes that escalate into violent crimes. Authorities urge residents to report any suspicious activities promptly to prevent further tragedies.

Investigations are ongoing, and the police have promised that all suspects will be held accountable once the inquiry is complete.

Mystery Deepens Why Activists Oppose Ruto’s MoU On Housing For Teachers And Police Officers

A fresh twist has emerged over President William Ruto’s promise to allocate 20 percent of affordable housing units to teachers and police officers, after activists rushed to court seeking to block the plan.

The petitioners argue that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during the Walimu Na Rais Forum was irregular and unfairly discriminates against other categories of workers. They claim the deal was pushed through without proper public participation, raising questions about transparency and accountability.

According to the activists, the Constitution requires that all Kenyans benefit equally from public housing projects, regardless of profession. They now want the court to declare the agreement null and void, insisting that Ruto’s pledge could trigger further inequality in access to the affordable housing programme.

The petition has sparked heated debate, with some Kenyans supporting the move, saying teachers and police officers already receive special privileges from the State. Others, however, insist that the President was right to prioritize frontline service providers who often face tough working conditions.

This latest development deepens the mystery around how the housing project will be implemented, especially as the court battle is expected to drag on. If the petition succeeds, it could derail one of Ruto’s flagship promises and force the government back to the drawing board.

The case is set to be mentioned in court in the coming weeks, with stakeholders eagerly awaiting the outcome.

Good News To Motorists As KeNHA Reveals Plans To Build 23 First Aid Centres Along Highways

Motorists across Kenya have received uplifting news after the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced a major project aimed at saving lives on the road.

In a new partnership with St. John Ambulance, KeNHA will set up 23 first aid and trauma centres along major transport corridors that have been identified as accident hotspots.

The project will include 19 mobile first aid posts and 4 fully equipped trauma centres strategically placed to respond to emergencies.

These facilities will offer rapid stabilisation to crash victims within the “golden hour,” the first 60 minutes after an accident when timely medical care can determine whether a victim survives or not.

According to KeNHA, this initiative is part of a broader plan to reduce the high number of deaths caused by road accidents across the country.

Volunteers and medics from St. John Ambulance will be deployed to run the centres, ensuring that victims receive immediate help before being transferred to nearby hospitals.

“This partnership will help reduce road carnage and give victims a fighting chance,” a KeNHA official noted, stressing that the authority is committed to road safety.

Kenyans have welcomed the move, saying it will bring much-needed relief to motorists and passengers who often suffer delays when accidents occur far from hospitals.

The construction of the centres is set to begin soon, marking a significant milestone in Kenya’s fight against rising road accident fatalities.

Revealed: Costly Blunder Firefighters Did That Made Mukuru Blaze Spread To Over 200 Houses

Two people have died and several others are nursing injuries after a fire tore through the Sinai area of Mukuru Kwa Reuben in Nairobi on Thursday morning, leaving more than 200 families homeless.

According to witnesses, the fire started in a single house before spreading quickly to others while most residents were still asleep.

Panicked locals tried to contain the flames but their efforts were in vain. By the time firefighters arrived, the blaze had already consumed dozens of homes.

However, residents now accuse the Nairobi County disaster team of negligence. They claim the fire truck arrived late and, shockingly, had no water.

“The firefighters came too late, then went back without fighting the fire because their vehicle had no water. That mistake made everything worse,” said one resident.

Families could be seen crying by the ruins of their homes, with some searching for missing loved ones and others salvaging what little remained. Parents narrated how they barely escaped with their children as the fire spread uncontrollably.

Residents also blamed the poor road network in Mukuru for slowing the response. “If the roads here were accessible, the fire could have been contained early before spreading this widely,” another eyewitness said.

Police have launched investigations to determine the cause of the fire, while the injured are receiving treatment in hospitals around Nairobi.

The Mukuru tragedy has reignited questions about Nairobi’s disaster preparedness and the county government’s ability to respond effectively to emergencies.

Police Reveal Costly Mistake 17-Year-Old Did With Kenyan Flag That Landed Him In DCI Custody

Police have confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old boy after a viral video showed him disrespecting the Kenyan national flag, an act that has sparked outrage among Kenyans online.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that the teenager’s costly mistake was recorded and widely shared on social media, prompting authorities to take swift action.

According to the DCI, the boy was identified after a brief manhunt following the circulation of the clip, which showed him mishandling and making gestures deemed as dishonorable to the flag.

The incident has raised serious concerns as the Kenyan flag is regarded as a powerful symbol of unity, independence, and national pride. Authorities stressed that such behavior cannot be tolerated, especially at a time when efforts are being made to strengthen patriotism among young people.

The police further warned that disrespecting national symbols is punishable by law under the Penal Code, and citizens are urged to treat the flag with the dignity it deserves.

“This should serve as a lesson to other young people that the flag is not a plaything, but a representation of the sacrifices made by our forefathers for freedom,” an officer remarked.

The teenager is currently being held in custody as investigations continue, with reports indicating he may face charges in court.

Meanwhile, the arrest has triggered mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans calling for leniency due to his age, while others insist that the law must take its course.

Kalonzo Musyoka Snubs Raila’s ODM 20th Anniversary Invite, Signals New Political Path

Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader Kalonzo Musyoka has shocked many by declining an invitation from longtime ally Raila Odinga to attend the Orange Democratic Movement’s (ODM) 20th anniversary celebrations.

The milestone event is scheduled for October 10th to 12th in Mombasa County, but Kalonzo confirmed he will not be part of the festivities.

Speaking outside Wiper headquarters in Nairobi on Wednesday, Kalonzo said he received a personal invitation from Raila but chose to turn it down.

“Ile kitu nimeona Raila ameniandikia barua akinialika ODM at 20. Mimi sitakuwa huko. I wish them well. I have spent a sizable chunk of my own life to support Raila,” he explained.

Political analysts say Kalonzo’s decision could reflect a growing desire to assert his independence ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

The Wiper leader has previously supported Raila’s political ambitions, but his recent statements suggest he is now charting a separate path.

In the same briefing, Kalonzo commented on President William Ruto’s tenure, predicting that the current president may only serve one term.

Drawing parallels with Malawi’s recent election, where President Lazarus Chakwera conceded defeat after a single term, Kalonzo stated, “Malawi wamesema one term na Wakenya are about to make history; President Ruto lazima atakuwa one term. Tujiandae Ruto atakuwa wa kwanza kusema nimekubali.”

Kalonzo also announced that Wiper will actively participate in upcoming by-elections, fielding candidates in Kasipul, Ugunja, Magarini, and seven other constituencies.

This move underlines the party’s determination to strengthen its grassroots presence while preparing for the next general elections.

Observers note that Kalonzo’s refusal to attend ODM’s celebrations highlights a potential shift in Kenya’s political alliances. While the two leaders share a long history, Kalonzo’s independent stance signals a new chapter for both Wiper and himself.

As Kenya edges closer to 2027, all eyes will be on Kalonzo’s strategies, alliances, and by-election campaigns, which could reshape the political landscape and redefine the Wiper Party’s influence in national politics.

Wife’s Shower Turns Deadly: Husband Found Lifeless in Bedroom

A shocking incident left neighbours in utter disbelief after a Tanzanian man was found dead inside his home while his wife was taking a shower.

The tragic discovery has left many questions unanswered, sparking fears and speculation across the local community.

The man, identified as Bendera, reportedly died under mysterious circumstances, prompting police to launch a full investigation.

According to neighbours, the household was quiet until a sudden, loud thud echoed from the bedroom. Startled, Bendera’s wife paused her shower and rushed to see what had happened. She was met with a horrifying sight—her husband lying lifeless on the bedroom floor.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with neighbours gathering outside the home in shock and mourning. Many struggled to comprehend how a seemingly ordinary day could end in such tragedy.

Some residents expressed concern about the safety and wellbeing of the family, while others speculated about possible causes, ranging from natural death to foul play.

Authorities swiftly arrived at the scene and took the body for further examination. The wife, visibly distraught, was seen covering her face as police carried out their investigations. No official cause of death has yet been announced, but the police assured the public that they would conduct a thorough inquiry.

The sudden demise of Bendera has left the neighbourhood in mourning and confusion, highlighting how unpredictable life can be. Residents continue to discuss the incident, sharing their condolences and anxieties over the shocking loss.

As investigations continue, neighbours hope for clarity on the mysterious circumstances surrounding Bendera’s untimely death.

Angry Mary Biketi Lectures Kenyans After Claims CS Oparanya Repossessed Her Car For New Lover

Mary Biketi, the outspoken girlfriend of Cabinet Secretary (CS) Wycliffe Oparanya, has broken her silence following a storm of rumors circulating online about her cars allegedly being repossessed.

The controversy began when claims spread on social media suggesting that Oparanya had repossessed one of Biketi’s luxury cars to hand it over to a new romantic partner. The claims sparked heated conversations among Kenyans, with many speculating about the state of her relationship with the CS.

In a strongly worded response posted on her social media pages, Biketi dismissed the allegations as baseless gossip meant to tarnish her image. She insisted that she is far from suffering, pointing out that she owned her cars long before Oparanya became a Cabinet Secretary.

“I am not suffering like you idiots,” she wrote, adding that her “bae” Oparanya had already bought her cars even before joining the Cabinet. Biketi further ridiculed those spreading the rumors, claiming most of them rely on the Hustler Fund for survival.

She went on to lecture critics who alleged that she had relocated to Syokimau after losing her car. “Do I look like someone who can live in Syokimau?” she posed defiantly, stressing that she maintains her lifestyle without depending on handouts.

The fiery response has since drawn mixed reactions. Some Kenyans accused her of arrogance and insensitivity to the economic hardships ordinary citizens are facing, while others defended her right to clarify her position and protect her reputation.

This is not the first time public figures close to politicians have found themselves entangled in controversy over lifestyle matters. With Oparanya being a seasoned politician and now a Cabinet Secretary, public scrutiny of his private life seems unlikely to fade.

As of now, CS Oparanya has not commented on the matter, leaving his girlfriend’s sharp rebuttal as the only official response to the swirling rumors.

Video Emerges Showing Rachel Otuoma Giving Tour Of Huge Compound She Says Belongs To Her

Renowned TikToker Rachel Otuoma has once again left tongues wagging online after releasing a video where she claimed to have purchased a new three-bedroom bungalow.

The video, which quickly spread across various platforms, showed Rachel giving a detailed tour of the spacious house and the vast compound surrounding it.

In the clip, Rachel confidently walked her fans through the premises, pointing out different sections of the compound and expressing excitement about the future plans she has for her alleged new home.

She announced that she intends to move into the house soon and even teased her critics, boldly stating “Tutawaalika” while addressing those doubting her achievement.

However, the announcement has stirred mixed reactions among netizens. Some congratulated her for the milestone, praising her hard work and determination, while others cast doubt on her claims, questioning the source of funds and whether she truly owns the house.

Rachel, a widowed mother who has been in the spotlight for weeks, is no stranger to controversy. She has previously trended for insulting fans during her live sessions, an act that even dragged her employer  a mobile phone-selling company — into the limelight after they were forced to issue an apology.

Critics argue that her recent display could be another attempt to seek attention amid the ongoing scrutiny of her online conduct.

Nonetheless, the TikToker seems unfazed by the criticism. By showcasing the property, she has fueled conversations around her lifestyle, resilience, and ability to bounce back despite online trolls.

Whether the bungalow is indeed her own or not, Rachel has once again managed to dominate online discussions, a strategy that continues to build her influence across social media circles.

For now, all eyes remain on her next move, as fans and critics alike await proof of ownership and watch closely to see if she will indeed host visitors in the house she so proudly paraded.

New Details Emerges Of Major Safaricom System Upgrade That Will Affect Millions Of Users

Millions of Kenyans are set to experience a temporary disruption in mobile money services after Safaricom PLC announced a scheduled system upgrade for its M-Pesa platform.
The telecommunications giant confirmed that the upgrade will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 12:30 am to 3:30 am.

During the three-hour maintenance window, all M-Pesa services, including sending and receiving money, paying bills, purchasing airtime, and using M-Pesa-linked banking services, will be completely unavailable. Safaricom has urged its customers to plan their transactions in advance to avoid inconvenience.

According to Safaricom, the upgrade is aimed at improving service reliability, performance, and security of the country’s most widely used mobile money platform.
“For 18 years, M-Pesa has transformed lives, enabling millions of Kenyans to access financial services conveniently. To maintain this promise, we will be conducting a system upgrade to strengthen reliability and security,” the company stated.

The firm emphasised that the timing of the maintenance was carefully chosen to minimise disruption since the majority of users are usually inactive during the early morning hours.
Safaricom also apologised in advance for the temporary inconvenience while assuring customers that the upgrade would lead to a more robust and seamless service experience.

Analysts note that system upgrades are common in digital financial services, especially for platforms serving millions of daily transactions. However, they caution that even short outages can have ripple effects on businesses, especially those relying heavily on M-Pesa for real-time payments.

Safaricom reaffirmed its commitment to innovation, noting that M-Pesa remains at the core of Kenya’s digital economy, facilitating transactions for individuals, small businesses, corporates, and government institutions.
The company thanked its customers for their continued trust and support, promising that the improvements will translate into faster, safer, and more reliable services going forward.

With M-Pesa deeply embedded in daily life, from buying food to paying rent, the temporary blackout serves as a reminder of how vital the platform has become to Kenya’s financial ecosystem.

Good News To Liverpool Fans As Star Player Impresses Ahead Of EPL Kickoff After Athletic Club Win

Liverpool fans have a reason to smile after the Reds wrapped up their pre-season with back-to-back victories against Athletic Club at Anfield.

The friendlies, played over two days, offered Jürgen Klopp a final opportunity to test his squad, and one star player stole the spotlight with an impressive performance that has left supporters hopeful ahead of the new English Premier League (EPL) season.

Darwin Núñez, who has been under intense scrutiny since his arrival at Anfield, silenced critics with a stellar display that included a goal and an assist during the second match.

His pace, movement, and improved finishing gave fans a glimpse of what could be a breakout season for the Uruguayan striker. Social media buzzed with praise, as many noted his confidence and chemistry with new signing Dominik Szoboszlai and attacking partner Mohamed Salah.

The friendly matches also saw the return of key players from injury, including Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcântara, who played limited minutes but showed promising signs of recovery.

In defense, Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez formed a solid partnership that kept Athletic Club's attack at bay, providing Klopp with positive headaches over his starting lineup ahead of the EPL opener.

Speaking after the match, Klopp expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and fitness levels.

“We looked sharp, confident, and hungry,” he said. “Darwin was outstanding. You can see how hard he’s worked in training. This is the level we want from everyone.”

The wins over Athletic Club may have been friendlies, but for the Anfield faithful, they felt like much more — a sign that their team is ready to fight for silverware again.

As excitement builds, one thing is clear: Liverpool’s pre-season has ended on a high, and the future looks bright.

Former Big Brother Africa star and radio personality Sheila Kwamboka, popularly known as Kwambox, has left tongues wagging after opening up about her sexuality during a candid interview this week.

Speaking with a local entertainment outlet, Kwambox boldly declared that she identifies as sexually fluid, a term that means her romantic or sexual attraction isn’t fixed to one gender. Her revelation sparked widespread discussion online, with fans and critics reacting in equal measure.

“I am fluid. I fall in love with humans, not genders,” Kwambox said during the tell-all moment. The former reality star noted that her journey to self-awareness has taken years and that she now feels free enough to express her truth without fear of judgment.

Her comments come amid growing acceptance of diverse sexual identities in Kenyan media and entertainment, but also ongoing social stigma in some quarters. Some online users praised her courage and authenticity, while others questioned her motives, accusing her of seeking attention.

However, Kwambox remained firm, stating that she was simply living her truth. “I know there will be noise. But that’s none of my business. I live free, and I live happy,” she added.

Drama has once again erupted in the Bahati household, and this time, it’s all about clothes and revenge. Diana Marua, popularly known as Diana B, left fans in stitches after she posted photos and videos online donning Bahati’s designer outfits.

This unexpected fashion statement came shortly after Bahati had been seen wearing Diana’s pink jacket and crop top during a recent photoshoot. While many fans assumed it was just a playful couple’s moment, sources close to the family reveal Diana was not entirely amused.

“She told him jokingly to stop raiding her wardrobe, but Bahati kept doing it for fun. So she decided to do the same to prove a point,” said a close friend of the celebrity couple.

In a hilarious turn of events, Diana B confidently rocked Bahati’s oversized hoodie, a pair of his signature jeans, and even one of his prized watches. She captioned the video, “If you can wear mine, I’ll wear yours – fair game, right?”

Bad News To Broke Men As Ex-Miss Tourism Reveals Why She Can’t Date Any Man Earning Less Than KSh 300K

Read More : Kenyans React to What Kenyan Price said to his girlfriend

Ex-Miss Tourism Jennifer Waridi has stirred social media after boldly declaring that she cannot date a man earning less than KSh 300,000 per month.

Speaking through her verified Instagram page, the beauty queen and model stated that her standards are high not out of arrogance, but because she understands her value and what she brings to the table.

Waridi, who is also an advocate for self-worth and personal growth, said she is single and not in a hurry to settle.

She emphasized that she is attracted to intelligence and values a man who can challenge her mentally. “I don’t want a man who will just sit around and admire my beauty. I want someone who will stretch my thinking, match my ambition, and understand the grind,” she wrote.

Her post has sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting her for setting standards, while others accused her of being materialistic. However, Waridi remained firm, noting that she had dated below her standards before and learned tough lessons.

“I have been with people who didn’t match my energy or vision. I realized it’s better to wait for the right person who understands your hustle and matches your level,” she added.

This statement has sent shockwaves, especially among male fans, many of whom expressed disappointment, saying her remarks were exclusionary. But to Waridi, it’s about compatibility and not just money.

As the debate continues online, one thing is clear—Jennifer Waridi is unapologetically choosing quality over quantity and isn’t afraid to speak her truth in a world that often criticizes women for knowing what they want.

Mulamwah Breaks Silence On Why He Chose Benz Over Wedding With Ruth K

Comedian and radio presenter Mulamwah has stirred online reactions after revealing that he spent money originally meant for his wedding with ex-girlfriend Ruth K to gift himself a luxurious Mercedes Benz S-550 for his birthday.

Speaking during an interview, the entertainer admitted that after parting ways with Ruth K, he decided to prioritize himself and reward his hard work rather than mourn over a relationship that didn’t work out.

“That money was for the wedding, yes, but life changed. I looked at everything I’ve been through, and I decided to do something for myself. I’ve worked hard, I’ve built a name, and this Benz is a symbol of my journey,” Mulamwah said.

The revelation has ignited mixed reactions on social media, with fans and critics weighing in. Some praised him for choosing self-love and progress, while others criticized the decision as wasteful and insensitive, especially considering how public the relationship with Ruth K had become.

“Mulamwah just showed us that sometimes, you come first. Benz over heartbreak any day!” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter).

However, some netizens felt he could have used the money for investment or charity rather than a flashy gift. Others questioned whether the move was a calculated publicity stunt ahead of a new project or brand deal.

Ruth K has not responded to Mulamwah’s remarks, maintaining silence on the issue.

Mulamwah and Ruth K broke up earlier this year after months of speculation about their rocky relationship. With the Benz parked in his compound and his head held high, Mulamwah seems focused on the future — with no wedding ring, but a new ride that’s already turning heads.

More Deaths Reported In Police Stations Weeks After Blogger Ojwang Was Killed

Tension continues to rise nationwide after the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) confirmed new deaths in police custody, barely weeks after the controversial killing of blogger Albert Ojwang.

In a statement released on Monday, IPOA revealed that at least four more individuals have died in unclear circumstances while being held in various police stations across the country.

The shocking revelations have sparked renewed outrage among human rights defenders, who now accuse law enforcement agencies of operating with impunity.

According to IPOA Chairperson Anne Makori, the latest cases are under active investigation, and preliminary findings point to gross misconduct and possible use of excessive force.

One of the incidents reportedly took place at a station in Kiambu, where a 19-year-old man died just hours after arrest. Another case involved a boda boda operator in Kisumu who was allegedly beaten in the cells.

The fresh reports have added pressure on Interior CS Kithure Kindiki to act, especially after promising justice in Ojwang’s death. Activists are now calling for urgent police reforms and the prosecution of officers linked to custodial deaths.

IPOA has vowed to hold all officers accountable and release a detailed report once investigations are complete.

Revealed: 3 Costly Tricks HELB Warned Students About Before July Disbursement

The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has issued an urgent warning to university and college students ahead of the much-anticipated July 2025 disbursement.

In a statement released on Monday, HELB outlined three common scams that have recently surged, leaving many applicants frustrated and financially stranded.

The first trick involves fake social media pages and WhatsApp groups that promise faster loan processing at a fee.

HELB emphasized that they do not charge any money for loan applications or follow-ups. Students are advised to rely only on the official HELB portal.

The second scam targets students through SMS alerts claiming their loan has been delayed due to incorrect bank details. Victims are often tricked into sharing their personal information, which is later used for identity theft and fraud.

The third warning concerns impersonators who call students pretending to be HELB officials. These callers ask for login details or MPESA confirmation codes, claiming they need to "verify" the loan.

HELB urged students to report any suspicious activity and reminded them that all official communication comes from verified channels. As the July release approaches, students are advised to remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to these costly traps.

Revealed: Why Government Has Declared No Street Protests Will Be Allowed On June 25

The government has officially declared that no street protests will be allowed on June 25, 2025, citing national security concerns and the need to maintain public order.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki made the announcement on Monday afternoon, warning that any form of public demonstration on that day will be treated as an illegal gathering.

According to the government, intelligence reports indicate that certain groups had planned to hijack the Gen Z-led protests and incite violence, loot businesses, and disrupt critical infrastructure.

Prof. Kindiki noted that while the Constitution guarantees the right to protest, that right does not extend to lawlessness and chaos.

The move comes amid rising tension across major towns, with online activists calling for nationwide protests over the Finance Bill 2025. However, the Ministry of Interior maintains that the safety of innocent Kenyans and the stability of the nation remain a top priority.

Police officers have already been deployed in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa in anticipation of any illegal gatherings.

The CS urged youth to seek alternative, peaceful means of expressing their grievances, stating that the government is open to dialogue — but not threats to national security.

Revealed: How Tanzania’s Decision To Deport Kenyans Backfired Badly On Global Stage

Tanzania is facing growing diplomatic isolation after a controversial decision to deport a group of Kenyan delegates attending a pre-conference workshop in Arusha.
The move, which shocked regional stakeholders, has now cost the country a prestigious international conference that was expected to boost tourism and trade.

According to sources close to the African Continental Development Forum (ACDF), organizers withdrew Tanzania’s hosting rights citing “hostile and discriminatory treatment” of fellow African nationals.
The annual event, which brings together heads of state, investors, and scholars, was scheduled for July but will now be held in Kigali, Rwanda.

The incident unfolded last week when immigration officers detained and deported 12 Kenyan professionals, claiming they lacked proper clearance—even though ACDF insists all participants had been accredited.

Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed “deep concern” over the matter, while civil society groups condemned the deportations as an attack on East African unity.

Tourism stakeholders in Tanzania have termed the development a major setback, warning of ripple effects on international partnerships.
With mounting criticism, the Tanzanian government has remained tight-lipped, but pressure continues to build for an official apology and explanation over what many see as an avoidable diplomatic blunder.

Pierra Makena Breaks Silence on DJ Mo Baby Rumors

Celebrated Kenyan DJ and actress Pierra Makena has broken her silence over long-standing rumours linking gospel DJ Mo to her daughter Ricca Pokot. Speaking during an interview with TV47, Makena opened up about the emotional weight the speculation carried, especially because DJ Mo is married to her close friend, gospel singer Size 8.

Makena candidly admitted that at some point, even she noticed a resemblance between DJ Mo and her daughter. “I thought to myself, ‘Where are you, DJ Mo?’ as I looked at my child,” she said, chuckling. However, she firmly dismissed the claims, saying, “I would have claimed it was his baby if Mo and I had ever been involved.”

Despite both parties finding the rumours laughable, Makena expressed concern that the gossip might have negatively affected DJ Mo’s marriage. “Mo and I were just giggling during all of that because we are close friends. However, I was concerned that it would begin to impact my friend Size 8,” she said. Makena emphasized that while the resemblance sparked curiosity among fans, there was absolutely no romantic involvement between her and Mo.

Over the years, Makena has kept the identity of her daughter’s father private. However, the rumour mill has previously hinted that flamboyant politician Steve Mbogo may be linked to her child, though Makena has never confirmed this publicly.

In a more uplifting turn of events, Makena proudly announced her 9-year-old daughter’s entrance into the media world. Ricca now co-hosts the Saturday Morning Show on Akili TV, a milestone that filled her mother with joy and pride.

Makena praised her daughter’s confidence and talent, calling it a sign of greatness to come. “She’s already shining at just nine,” the proud mother beamed.

Revealed: Costly Mistake Suspect Made Before Police Traced MP Charles Were’s Murder Car

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have revealed the costly blunder that led to the recovery of the vehicle believed to have been used in the brutal killing of Kasipul MP Charles Were.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, the main suspect, now in custody, made the mistake of using his personal phone during the final stages of the murder plot.

After the killing, he briefly turned on the device while near the garage where the car was later abandoned. This digital footprint allowed police to trace his movements and zero in on the location of the hidden vehicle.

The silver Toyota Premio, believed to be the getaway car, was found inside an abandoned garage in Oyugis. It had been cleaned and its number plates altered, but investigators recovered traces of blood and other forensic evidence now under analysis.

DCI officers say the suspect’s decision to switch on his phone, even momentarily, was a critical error that exposed the entire operation. Investigators used mobile phone triangulation and CCTV footage to piece together his movements from the day of the murder.

The car’s discovery has been described as a major breakthrough, bringing hope to the family of the slain MP and the people of Kasipul who have been demanding answers. The suspect, believed to have been hired to execute the killing, is currently assisting police with further investigations.

ODM leaders from Homa Bay have applauded the progress and urged the DCI to move swiftly in apprehending all accomplices.

Charles Were was found murdered under mysterious circumstances last week, sparking public outrage and nationwide calls for justice.

More arrests are expected in the coming days as investigations intensify.

BBC Africa has finally unveiled the identities of the police and army officers involved in the brutal crackdown on GenZ protesters during the 2024 finance bill demonstrations in Kenya. The protests, largely led by young Kenyans, saw over 60 GenZs shot dead, hundreds reported missing, and many still unaccounted for today.

In a detailed investigative feature aired on June 25th, 2024, BBC meticulously analyzed videos recorded during the maandamano.

Their investigation successfully identified the faces of certain officers responsible for the killings. Shockingly, BBC also revealed that not only police officers but also army personnel were deployed to the streets to suppress the protests violently.

On the main day of the demonstrations, BBC confirmed the identities of two police officers and one army officer who were caught on camera shooting at unarmed young protesters. The investigation highlighted how some state forces were allegedly hired to kill the youth during the unrest.

Among those exposed was the army officer linked to the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Eric Chieni. Photos of the army officer, along with images of two other police officers accused of killing two protesters outside Parliament, were shared by BBC.

we Know Your Are Supporting Matiangi Millie Bold Remark To Azimio MP

During a heated parliamentary session yesterday, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo caused a stir after calling out her colleague, Cliff Gesairo, for what she described as “inappropriate dressing” during House proceedings.

Odhiambo, widely known for her no-nonsense approach, openly criticized Gesairo’s attire, implying that it undermined the dignity of the Parliament. “We know you are from Dubai and you really have nice looks,” she said with heavy sarcasm, “but should you wear that to Parliament, or are you planning to welcome Matiang’i to the country?”

Her remarks drew mixed reactions, with some MPs chuckling at the unexpected jab while others exchanged confused glances. It was clear the moment had unsettled the chamber, shifting the focus from legislative debates to fashion and political loyalty.

Millie Odhiambo didn’t stop there. She went on to suggest that Gesairo’s dress sense was symbolic of his open support for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, who has been out of the political spotlight for months.

However, Odhiambo reminded the House that while personal style may be a matter of preference, official business in Parliament demands a standard of decorum and seriousness. “This is not a fashion show, and certainly not a reunion for Matiang’i loyalists,” she added.

The Speaker did not immediately intervene, allowing the verbal exchange to simmer before proceeding with the session’s agenda.

This episode has sparked conversations online, with Kenyans divided over whether fashion should

Revealed: Why Deyanar Kimani Is Charging Men Ksh.10,000 Just To Get Her Phone Number

Popular radio host and media personality Deyanar Kimani has once again stirred social media after a bold revelation on national television. In a candid interview aired on September 19, 2024, Deyanar openly admitted that she charges men Ksh.10,000 just to get her phone number.

The outspoken presenter explained that her beauty attracts countless admirers daily, making it difficult to differentiate between those with genuine intentions and those seeking momentary attention. According to her, setting a price tag on her contact details acts as a filter, weeding out unserious individuals.

“I’m beautiful, and men approach me all the time,” she said. “If a man is serious about me, he should be willing to make the effort. Ksh.10,000 is just a way to test seriousness.”

Deyanar also noted that the money is not necessarily about wealth but about commitment. To her, a man willing to spend that amount just for a phone number proves he is genuinely interested and may be worth considering for a date.

This revelation sparked mixed reactions online. While some supported her decision, calling it a smart move to guard her peace and energy, others criticized the idea, arguing that it commercializes human interaction and encourages transactional relationships.

Still, Deyanar remains unapologetic. She believes her strategy has saved her time and helped her focus only on men who truly value her worth.

Jane Kimari: Why I chose to do farming despite having first class Honors

Many people believe that excelling academically guarantees a white-collar job, but Jane Kimari defied this notion. Despite graduating with first-class honors, she chose a different path—farming.

Jane, who pursued a degree in Agricultural Economics, initially envisioned herself working in corporate offices or government institutions. However, after struggling to secure a well-paying job, she decided to turn to farming. She saw it not just as a survival option but as a lucrative business with the potential for financial freedom.

Starting small, Jane invested in vegetable and poultry farming. Through dedication, she expanded her venture, supplying fresh produce to local markets and supermarkets. Today, she earns more than what many degree holders in office jobs make.

She encourages young graduates to embrace agriculture as a business, rather than waiting for formal employment. According to Jane, farming provides financial stability and independence, something many people overlook.

"Many people think farming is for the uneducated, but it is a goldmine if done right. I am proud of my decision," she says.

Jane’s success story proves that academic excellence can be a tool for entrepreneurship, and farming can be a rewarding career choice.

A 29-year-old man, John Kiama Wambua, has been arraigned in court on suspicion of killing his wife and dismembering her body.

Police have requested the court to detain him for 21 days to allow further investigations into the gruesome murder allegations.

According to the investigating officer, Wambua was arrested on January 20 at around 5 a.m. in Huruma estate, Nairobi, while carrying a suspicious bag on his back.
